The Challenge
Salsify is a rapidly growing SaaS platform that has numerous robust features for building and organizing digital shelf product content. With the growing needs of consumers, advanced features become more intricate. Support can come from not just documentation, but other experts in the community. A large and easy-to-access community can drive both interest and knowledge around the platform
My Role
Strategize and conceptualize a branded index around platform support. The support community should become the backbone for customer engagement and expertise.
The Approach
Salsify created a brand around “Transforming Commerce”. Experts from various organizations who subscribe to the Salsify model become advocates for the platform, and themselves become “Transformers”. I wanted to use this brand while creating a community where users would be rewarded for engaging and offering support.
Initially, the project required a redesign of just our documentation. However, it became apparent that our documentation isn’t always the easiest way to understand new features. Other users throughout the customer community had the potential to provide more context and better understanding when our support team might not be immediately available. My thinking was how we could create an extension of the brand while making the community feel fun and rewarding
